Making Fun of The Midwest: Mom Turned Cheerleader

By: Monica Dimperio

September 17th, 2008

A Wisconsin mom went back to high school by assuming her daughter's identity. During the short stint, she even made the cheerleading squad. It was only after one of her checks bounced that they start to think something was fishy.

Umm, did anyone even take a good look at her?!

I'm not sure who's dumber, the mom for trying to "reliving her youth" or everyone at the school for believing this woman was 15.

Only in Wisconsin...

Midwest Street Style: Omaha, NE

July 18th, 2008

Out of everywhere on my trip, I wish I got to spend a little more time in Omaha. Due to time constraints I only got to visit the Old Market, a very cute little shopping district and The Slowdown aka Bright Eyes bar.

From what I can tell, the overall style in Omaha seemed to be vintage based and not as uber-hipster as I assumed it would be.

I feel like there were some hidden gems I missed out on, so I will definitely be back.

Midwest Street Style: Kansas City, MO

July 17th, 2008

Ah, good ole Kansas City, the city of fountains and barbecue and ummm, uhhhh...not much else.

So maybe I didn't spend enough time there to be a good judge but from the looks of things, the place is B-O-R-I-N-G. Well, I can't say that it was boring the whole time. There was this one block I was really impressed with. Yes, I did say ONE. It was the stretch of 18th. St between Baltimore and Wyandott Streets in the Crossroads Arts District.

The boutiques were adorable and I found a cute coffee shop to steal WiFi.

But, needless to say, I didn't capture much street style.
