Not to dangle a carrot in your faces or anything, but it's almost February 20. In roughly 10 days, at 200 H&M stores (including H&M's flagship on Michigan Ave. here in Chicago), Sonia Rykiel's guest designer line (Sonia Rykiel pour H&M, appropriately enough) will be hitting shelves.

Can you say OMG?

The line was announced last September, and though I contemplated sitting on my hands until the launch date got closer, the doom and gloom from looking outside got the better of me. The light at the end of winter's tunnel is in sight and by the looks of it, you'll be in Paris soon enough.

If only. SR's line is inspired by the pixie dream women of the City of Lights. Utilizing Rykiel's talents with knits and infusing them with a bright, tulip-like palette, this collection is playful and spritely. There are vibrant striped knits, coquettish double-breasted blazers in neon pink, brightly striped knee highs, a wonderfully nonchalant black drawstring jumpsuit. What more: 30% of the sales from the collection's central accessory—a black and pink shoulder bag—benefit H&M's 5-year joint venture with UNICEF, All for Children. The proceeds benefit children in cotton-producing regions such as India's Tamil Nadu by getting them out of the workforce and into schools. If this doesn't compel you to shop the collection, I don't know what will.

The weather outside may be frightful, but with a forecast such as this collection on the horizon, I can only think: What snow?
